1. What is AMPY?
Small US oil and gas company. Two main assets; Beta (offshore California) and Bairoil (Rockies). Strategy: sell off side assets, focus on these two, pay down debt.
2. Why it looks good
* Proved reserves of 38.1 MMBoe, valued at ~$376M.
* $61M cash on hand after asset sales.
* Stock is cheap; single-digit P/E.
* Debt facility extended to 2028.
* Institutions hold ~43% of shares; steady interest.
3. Q4 2025 earnings (March 9, 2026)
Net income was $64.4M, but ~$54.7M of that came from a one-time asset sale gain. Strip that out, the actual operating performance is not that impressive. Stock rallied after the report.
4. Revenue and EPS (last 4 quarters)

* Revenue trending down with no clear reversal catalyst.
* If oil drops below $55-60/bbl, cash flow gets tight.
* Dilution risk if they run out of assets to sell and need more capital.
7. Bottom line
Turnaround story; simplify the portfolio, focus on core, cut debt. Thesis works if oil stays above $55-60 and core assets start delivering better margins. But right now, the numbers are propped up by one-off gains, revenue is falling, and an insider just cashed out near the top. Watch for whether real operating cash flow improves from here.
